IVF round 2!!!

SO a lot has been going on this summer... Matt has been on three medications all summer long that made him absolutely miserable, but ultimately they gave us a chance to do our second round of IVF in August.

I know this time I didn't do a day by day of how it felt on IVF but it was pretty much the same as last time, except this time after my egg retrieval I ended up almost passing out and spent the night in the hospital. They thought my ovaries were bleeding mildly which would cause the passing out. But I personally think I was just really dehydrated. Staying in the hospital is horrible by the way, never ever want to do that again.
This time though medications worked for matt and we had two little sperm to work with, and from our first cycle and this one we had almost 20 eggs to work with. So with matts and our donor we had a bunch of little embryos made on August 21. Only one egg fertilized with matt's genetic offering, which was a little disappointing, even more so when we learned they couldn't put one from the donor in with matt's embryo. Apparently its a huge no no to put genetic material from three different people in one womb :) but on August 24 we had our embryo transfer, with matt's little baby. then a forever long 11 day wait for a pregnancy test. We also have 12 embryo's that should have been frozen so we can do a thaw cycle later.

So September 4th we did blood work, waited all day for them to call us, to find out that yes the little embyo did implant. Today we are waiting for more blood work to see if things are still progressing. SO if everything is still looking good our little embryo is 2 wks and 2 days old, which means something like i'm 4 wks along. and due in may sometime.

I guess our next step is to keep giving me my hormone shots until they tell us to stop, and make sure we pick an OB or midwife or whatever we want to do.... from here on out we are so out of our element!! AND in shock still. At some point we will feel its real.
