So it has been a long couple of weeks since our unsuccessful IVF round. We have seen a psychiatrist to be approved to use donors, which still might not happen. We have gone back and talked with our IVF doctor, and are waiting to talk to Matt's doctor still. But we have a game plan.
Step 1: Matt goes on Clomid, which could help his body make testosterone naturally, in turn making sperm. But we, more I, don't think it is working because he is more tired than ever before.
Step2: Matt got blood work and will find out if its working this week.
Step 3: If its working- we wait 4 months and do a fresh round of IVF.
Step 4: if its not working- we either do an IUI with donors, or a fresh IVF with donors.
This is all made possible by the fact that we choose to freeze my eggs in the first round and not canceled it. Because if we had canceled it we would have been billed for every appointment, therefore burning through all our savings for adoption and IVF. But because we did finish it, insurance is covering it completely, per the state mandate to cover two IVF rounds completely.
So ultimately if nothing works we should still have our savings to adopt from LDS family services, and if we get a rental or house by august we will still be doing Foster care.
And yes knowing that both of Matt's brothers got their wives pregnant recently is heartbreaking. Even more so that they choose to tell me the same weekend. But I am happy for them. Eventually something will work for us, right?
