Better

I think I am slowly becoming better at this whole blogging thing. Maybe one day they won't all be so down hearted like most of my last posts are, so I will try to keep this one up beat :) Life moves on, we have reorganized our apartment. Living room in our bedroom, kitchen is the kitchen, and a baby room. where as it use to be the living room was in the kitchen, but that was frowned upon by DCF so this was our solution. You want a tour you say?? ok, we will start in our little kitchen

In the pantry there we keep the cat food and litter behind  the gate

Our kitchen is full, it has two fish tanks, one is a 29 gallon, the other 10, a table for four, a reclining chair, and two side table things, and of course the usual kitchen things, like a stove, fridge, and sink. This door here is technically our back door but we use it practically as our front door as we hate going into the apartment complex hallway. Neighbor thinks roaches are his pets, so they invade the hallway, his apartment, and die as they try coming in our place.









This is our kitchen exit, it leads straight into the hallway, which is also Shelby's designated eating spot. The other door leads to our bedroom, but i will give a tout of that soon.













The next stop on our tour is an area just for Matt, he is supposed to use it to do his homework for grad school and we really should keep our lap top there, but alas, it mostly sits cluttered and unused. Its Matt's study/ homework desk. and yes it is in a corner. Oh and we can't forget it is for the keeping of the guitar, and behind that the cat scratching post.

Next stop is the porcelain throne. Or as one of my sister in-laws refers to it..... The entrance to Narnia!

I think its an ok bathroom, the claw foot tub is nice, but to small, at least for Matt, and you can't fill it up to high because of those overflow drains... but enough about the bathroom.
on to our next stop..... wait for it......... the Hallway!!!

Here is a picture of it from either end. Yes the paintings on the wall are mine, they are ok... at the end of the hall you might be able to see our cat tree... it has been secured to the wall, don't worry so much DCF.
Now finally the stop you've all been waiting for.... our bedroom/living room!! Sounds exciting doesn't it.

ok so the setup isn't the best, but how else do you fit a queen sized bed, a ginormous dresser, a bookcase, the tv stand and tv and movies... well that is my mission really. i'm trying to figure out how to make it fit better in this room. So if you have any ideas please share.
And now the last stop. we don't have anything up on the walls yet but we are getting there....

 This is our hand- me down crib. It is a drop down side, some of you might know it as the crib from memere's house. We might have to get a different one still for DCF safety rules but for now its what we got. Oh and the thing in the bag is our new car seat :) It looks weird because it has a removable headrest that we can put back in for when its a forward facing seat :)

 

 I like the rest of the room, it is also furnished with hand me downs. the chair... not exactly sure whose it was originally but i think it came from Matt's Aunt Martha or his Uncle Lee, who might have got it from Martha... But I like it cause its a swivel rocker.
The little green swing, and the big blue swing came from the family I babysit for. they are practically brand new :) And I always knew my break apart storage cube thing that I dragged around in collage would come in handy one day, it has officially become the toy/ diaper and wipe/ extra blankets and sheets for crib holder. I kinda like the gray and blue cubes... don't you?

Well that basically completes our home tour. I would show you our hallway out of our apartment, but I don't even go out there to check the mail, so sorry we'll have to forgo that picture :)

And as for an update about our family going ons... well our first home study appointment is the first week of October for DCF, and hopefully that is all completed in Oct, and we will be licensed foster parents. Then In January we will hopefully get to try IVF, we are waiting for levels of swimmers to come back since Matt spent four months on the "juice" or testosterone. So October and December are going to be big months for us!! Keep us in your prayers
